Automate the machines you already run.

Trinity Automation’s AX automated pallet systems turn a CNC machining center into a cell that keeps cutting after the shift goes home. Add one to a machine you buy from us, or retrofit it to the spindles already on your floor. It bolts on beside the machine and is integrated on site in five days by Trinity’s own technicians, with full factory and local support.

How it’s calculated. Added hours = working days × shift length × (manned shifts × manned utilization gain + lights-out shifts × lights-out utilization gain). Annual benefit = added hours × your spindle-hour rate. Payback = cost ÷ monthly benefit. First-year return = (benefit − cost) ÷ cost. 5-year net = 5 × benefit − cost. It estimates the value of the added spindle hours, not profit: tooling, power, maintenance and financing are left out. Starting values are examples — change them to your shop.

Two ways in

On a new machine, or on the one you have

Your existing machines

  • Retrofit on site to the drill and tapping centers, vertical and five-axis machining centers you already own
  • Most of the spindles in your shop are already paid for — this puts them to work on the second and third shift
  • Five-day integration on site, with full factory and local support
  • Send us the model, the control and the part; we confirm the fit before you commit

With a machine from LOMA

  • Pairs with the 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers we sell
  • Machine and automation quoted together, delivered as one project
  • One point of contact from the quote through installation and service

The AX range

Ten models, sized by the part

Every AX system is a six-axis industrial robot and a pallet store in one enclosure, set beside the machine — from drill and tapping centers and small machining centers up to large VMCs. Part diameter decides most of the choice.

About Trinity Automation · Santa Clara & Ontario, California · est. 2004

Robot people who decided to do one thing well.

Trinity was founded in 2004 by engineers from FANUC Robotics, as a FANUC robot integrator. In 2016 it narrowed its focus to automated pallet systems for CNC machining centers — the work that became the AX Series. Every system is designed and built in California and supported by the people who designed it, with LOMA as your local contact.

Questions

Automating your machines, answered plainly.

Will a Trinity AX system fit the machine I already have?
Most likely, if it is a drill and tapping center, a small or larger vertical machining center, or a trunnion five-axis machine. Trinity has systems running on machines from most of the major builders. Send us the machine model, the control and the largest part you want to run, and we will confirm the fit and the model before you spend anything.
Can I add one to a machine I buy from LOMA?
Yes. The GEN MILL vertical machining centers we sell pair with the AX range, and we can quote the machine and the automation together so it arrives as one project, with one point of contact.
Who installs it, and how long does it take?
Five days on site, covering installation and operator training. Trinity’s own OEM technicians install the system, including the auto-door integration, the table setup with zero-point receivers, and the controls package with clamp confirmation. After that you have full factory support from Trinity and local support from LOMA, which scopes and coordinates the job and stays your contact.
How many hours will it run unattended?
That comes down to your cycle time and how many pallets the system holds. A 20-pallet system running 30-minute cycles has ten hours of work on board. We will work it through with your parts, and the ROI calculator on this page shows what those hours are worth.
What is Trinity AI, and how is it different from the AX range?
The AX systems run parts on pallets from a pallet store. Trinity AI loads the parts themselves: it uses AI perception and automated grasp and motion planning, so a new part does not need traditional robot programming. It suits small parts, up to 4″ × 6″ × 4″, in high-mix work on drill and tapping centers and small machining centers.
Which model do I need?
Part size decides most of it. Up to Ø8″ fits every model, and the AX1-18 holds 18 of them in the smallest footprint. Up to Ø12″: AX1-12, AX2-24 or AX2-24 DUO. Up to Ø16″: AX2-16 or AX2-16 DUO. Up to Ø20″: AX5-20. Up to Ø21.65″ and 16.5″ tall, or when the machine needs front loading: AX5F-12. Over 55 lb, the AX5F and AX5 go to 75 lb, or 180 lb in the HD versions. We check the choice against your machine.
